Dear Sarah
As National Senior members, we have noted within the April/May edition of the
National Seniors 50 Something magazine how you are encouraging your members to
tell both major political parties what is important to them as a forthcoming
federal election issue.
As a supporter of autonomous end of life decisions which should be an
inalienable civil right for all citizens, over an extended period of time I
have corresponded by way of representation for legislative change to both
sides of politics, without success.
With the format of your survey page not providing for the raising of this
important majority supported issue, I have registered our requirements at the
bottom of page (12) under “other issues” which I will post in due course.
For your awareness I will forward a copy of a most recent letter of
representation that I forwarded to my local Federal Sitting member for Herbert
Mr Peter Lindsay which is awaiting acknowledgement.
I will also forward a couple of thought provoking circular reports that you
may consider as items worthy of publication in the next June/July edition of
the 50 Something magazine.
With the National Seniors organization representing aged people like ourselves
then such informative information would surely be welcomed and viewed with
interest by most thinking aged members who seek to be informed.
Following the airing of the “SBS Insight program” on Tuesday 3rd April 2007
covering people’s right to die, the following morning I circulated a critique
of the program which has since been distributed to several politicians
including the Prime Minister.
It would be appreciated if you would please extend consideration to the
correspondence and reports in focus as items for considered publication.
It is in anticipation that I await a reply at your earliest convenience.
Yours truly
