Subject: Mr Kevin Rudd MP letter of representation
Dear Senator, congratulation on your reindorsement as the Shadow Minister for
Aging, Disabilities and Carers under the recently new constitured Labor Shadow
Front Bench.
Please find attached for your awareness a self-explanatory copy of a letter of
representation to Kevin Rudd and I hereby request that consideration be
extended for copies of same to be circulate amongst your political colleagues
for their perusal and interest.
When considering the past history of my protracted disappointing
representation of this majority supported, end of life, patient directed dying
issue, that has only met with equivocation and indecisive politics on labors
behalf, I wish to advise as set out below.
From my perspective as a traditional supporter, should Labor fail to
demonstrates the backbone to positively embrace that conveyed in the past and
within the attached, in accord with the Party's current dichotomised State -
Federal VE policy and to be brutally honest, for the first time that I became
eligible to vote in my 69 years, along with myself, I know that a lot of
others likewise, will have no hesitation in directing their traditional
support away from Labor also.
With it being some time since I acknowledged you advice on 13th March 2006
that Kim Beazley would soon be replying to my correspondence by way of
representation to him dated 23rd February 2006, I regret to advise that up
until his recent demise, a reply is discourteously still outstanding after a
duration of nine months.
To conclude, I would to take this opportunity to wish you, your family and
staff a happy, prosperous New Year and it is in anticipation that I look
forward to advice of positive Labor support concerning this long-overdue
deserving issue in the not too distant future.
Yours sincerely
